Nalu Hou was born facing the ocean.
It all started at Zicatela, Oaxaca — one of Mexico’s most powerful breaks — where I learned to surf and discovered that the ocean doesn’t just carry you; it transforms you.
The journey continued to Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii, the birthplace of surfing, where every wave carries history. I still surf throughout the region — Los Cabos, La Fortuna, Costa Azul, and Cerritos — learning from the best locals, letting the ocean keep teaching.
That path eventually led me to Nazaré, Portugal — home to the biggest waves on Earth. Standing before that raw, infinite power wasn’t just a trip; it was the spark that confirmed everything: there is something in nature that awakens the best in us.
Nalu means "wave" in Hawaiian. Hou means "new." Together, Nalu Hou is the wave that renews, drives, and transforms.
But Nalu Hou isn’t just for surfers. It’s for everyone who feels that call — in the mountains, on the water, in the forest, the desert, or wherever nature speaks to you.
We are a community of adventure and nature lovers, united by the spirit of exploration, living with purpose, and connecting with the world around us.
